Thanksgiving Day Dinner, 2007
Click
here to view our Thanksgiving Day activities held at the Bill Carey Boys and
Girls Club. We had over 900 volunteers and guests walk through the
doors for a spectacular event. We gave out over 3,000 articles of
clothing for men, women and children, as well as shoes, toiletries, blankets
and other miscellaneous items.
Christmas Day Dinner,
2007
Our
Christmas Day dinner was held at the Bill Carey Boys and Girls Club, and
over 400 men, women and children were served. We distributed clothing,
shoes, toiletries, blankets and other items to our guests. There were
over 150 children present and we gave out toys to each of them.
The
ladies were given gift boxes with soft personal items donated by the ladies
from Curves of Valrico. The Holiday Cheer Sponsorship program was a
huge success. The Ministry sponsored 12 families for Christmas, and
was able to convince local businesses and organizations to sponsor another
10. The look of happiness on the faces of these family members
receiving their gifts is something words cannot describe.
New Certification
Policy for 2008
Training Sessions for ALL volunteers will begin in April. Upon
completion of this training, each volunteer will receive a certificate and
completion card allowing them to volunteer at any Ministry event.
While the tangible needs of the homeless are blatantly apparent, the
emotional needs are not. Our training will equip our volunteers to
better serve the homeless with not only theirs meals, but in showing great
care and compassion to these displaced loved ones of our Father.
All
volunteers are required to be certified in order to serve for
Thanksgiving and/or Christmas events. Contact Cynthia AFTER MARCH 1,
2008 for more information about this.

But don’t think these have been isolated events because Cynthia Pinckney
Ministries provides help on a
daily basis to the needy, hungry, homeless, and displaced. In
2003, the Ministry served Thanksgiving Dinner to about 200. Between
2004 and 2007, over 1,500 Thanksgiving and Christmas meals were served to
the needy in our community.
